Ngorongoro Simba Camp

Simba Campsite is the public campsite on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, used on camping safaris the night before the crater game drive. Its position on the rim gives an early start down to the crater floor.

This is a basic, shared public site rather than a lodge. Facilities are limited to toilets and firewood-heated hot showers, and guests sleep in the safari crew’s tents; the rim setting is scenic but cold at night.

Meals and camp setup are handled by the safari crew. The campsite is unfenced and wildlife passes through, so it should be described as a genuine wilderness camping experience rather than a comfort stay.
