Nainokanoka Camp

Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Overview

Nainokanoka Camp is a highland campsite at the foot of the Olmoti Crater in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, used as a base for multi-day Crater Highlands walking treks. It suits itineraries that include guided highland walking.

This is a basic public wilderness site with cleared grass pitches, a simple bathroom block and cold-water standpipes, close to a Maasai village. Comfort is minimal and nights at altitude are very cold.

There are no dining facilities; a self-contained trekking crew carries and prepares all food and sets up the camp. It should be presented as a basic walking-trek camp, not a lodge.
