Serengeti Seronera Rest House

Serengeti National Park

Overview

Seronera Rest House (also called the Serengeti Rest House or Taji House) is a budget property run by Tanzania National Parks, set just behind the Seronera Visitor Centre in the very centre of the Serengeti. Its position in the park’s prime wildlife area makes it a practical, well-placed base for independent travellers and groups.

This is a simple, government-run facility rather than a private lodge. Accommodation is in solid brick cottages with self-contained twin or double rooms, basic furnishings and mosquito nets, and each room has an en-suite bathroom with a hot shower, mains electricity and free Wi-Fi.

Basic home-style meals are served at a small communal dining block, though many guests arrange packed lunches for the day. The grounds are unfenced and wildlife passes through, so it offers a raw, central-park experience at a budget price; bookings are made in advance through the TANAPA portal.
