Salt Lick Safari Lodge
Taita Hills, Kenya
Salt Lick Safari Lodge stands on concrete stilts above an active waterhole in the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary in Kenya, near Tsavo West. Its unusual elevated design gives close, eye-level views of elephants and other game, making it a memorable stop on a Kenya safari.
The circular en-suite rooms are linked by raised walkways, with running hot and cold water and elevated viewing decks. Verified facilities include a restaurant and bar facing the waterhole, free Wi-Fi and a gift shop.
Stays are full-board. Note the lodge’s policy that children under five are not permitted, due to the elevated walkways – a practical point to flag for families.
